I currently own a 2007 Peterbilt 320. It needs a new rear end and has already had a new transmission with less than 75,000 miles on the vehicle.
New rear end part price alone is $5,000 true Peterbilt from Weller. Of course you can't buy it direct from Weller because that would not give Peterbilt the opportunity to Institute what I can only imagine is a substantial markup in the price.
I have a 94 Ford CF 800 as well as a 97 Ford CF 800 neither one of which have needed the repairs this Peterbilt has and when they do even with the parts being nearly unattainable and obsolete they are cheaper than Peterbilt. Don't know that I will buy another one

BREAKDOWN on 2022
Our 2022 semitruck only has 260K miles on it and it blew a sensor and wont run! Peterbilt in Nashville told told me you only cover to 250K miles!
THIS IS NOT RIGHT. We are a one truck business and its our sole source of income. I have been sitting in Kingston Springs, TN for 5 days and no one can figure it out because after replacing the sensor and the DEF filter it wont regen. I do maintenance on this truck every 3 months and take great care of it.
THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TO A 2022 truck that is well taken care of! Please call me and let me know what you can do about this. I will go bankrupt if this isnt fixed.
I have put 8K in this truck in the last 2 weeks with regular maintenance, tires, alignment, and now this issue. I am broke and far from home.

- Always gotta take it to the shop and they never fix it
Preferred solution: When someone buys a semi, you should feel some obligation to fix it. We haven't had this truck a year and it's been at the shop half of its life!!

Very dissatisfied
Worst mistake ever made in my life. I picked up my truck August 5 at 3 oclock in the afternoon in North Carolina.
Taking her back to Florida to install my equipment. That night on the way home I realize I had no headlights. I spent 4 1/2 hours in the parking lot calling everybody no one had answers. Playing around with every bottom in the truck I turn the windshield wipers on with no rain in the truck and the lights started working.
I have air leaks all over my transmission. No power in the engine. I would never ever recommend this truck to anyone. And the dealership changed out of this world just to tell that there computer need not pull any codes.
BIG SCAM. To get out of warranty work.
My backyard mechanic is done more in a few hours than PETERBILT has done in days. For a fraction of the cost

Engine Derate
We are Farmers Trucking LLC from Phoenix Az.
On 7/8 we took Delivery of 2023 Peterbilt 579 Ultra loft from Uniontown PA.VIN: 1XPBD49X5PD874091
On 7/9 after driving 1100 miles around 2PM I got Engine Derate Inc and SCR System altered or fault Alert on dashboard.
We got 59 min alert for Engine Derate.
We parked our truck and after waiting for 20 mins we find out nearest TA truck centre at scyra OK.
While driving to TA the Dashboard Alert went inactive.
We got to TA and they cleared the history.
We drove for 100 miles and we got the same alert.
Engine Derate time started with 30 min where it went inactive.
We are at Petro Truck stop Amarillo,
Can you arrange afterhour technician so that we can drop the truck at dealership.
We can pick the truck later once ratified.
Plz arrange someone.
